What to do if I uncover an academic integrity violation?
- If you uncover a violation of the Academic Integrity Policy, the choice of how to respond is completely within your discretion.
- However, if you choose to sanction the student in any way (even if the sanction is simply to modify the conditions of the assignment), you are required to notify the student of the violation in writing using the Online Notification System available through Campus Connect. Once logged in to Campus Connect, you will be able to access the online notification system through an option under "for instructors" on the left side column of your screen that says, "academic integrity violations."

What to do if a student appeals a violation I have filed?
- You will be notified if a student appeals a violation that you have filed.
- In anticipation of the appeal, you will be asked to take several steps in order to allow us to best support the process and to ensure that your perspective, as well as the student's, is heard. You are the one with comprehensive information of the circumstances and we rely on you to inform the Board of the situation involved.
- Your attendance at the hearing is required by the Academic Integrity Policy. If you are otherwise unable to attend, the Academic Integrity Policy will ask you to arrange for a colleague to represent your position.
- You will be asked to send all relevant materials to Laura Hartman, (Dept. of Management, DePaul Center, Ste. 7000).

What to do if I have questions that are not answered anywhere on this website?
If a faculty member has any questions that are not answered by this website or the Academic Integrity Policy, he or she should contact the appropriate College Consultant. If questions remain, faculty should contact AIB Chair, Leah Bryant, at LBryant2@depaul.edu or at x57702.
If a student asks a faculty member for assistance, the faculty member may direct the student to the Academic Integrity Ombudspersons who are appointed specifically to respond to student inquiries in order to provide clarity to students about the policy and the process. Several faculty members from different colleges have been appointed as ombudspersons and students may contact any of them. All questions you may have about appeal or the hearing procedures should be directed to an ombudsperson.
