| What to do if you have uncovered a violation |
If you uncover a violation of the Academic Integrity Policy, the choice of how to respond is completely within your discretion. However, if you choose to sanction the student in any way (even if the sanction is simply to modify the conditions of the assignment), you are required to notify the student of the violation in writing using the Online Notification System available through Campus Connect. Once logged in to Campus Connect, you will be able to access the Online Notification System through an option under "for instructors" on the left side column of your screen that reads: "Academic Integrity Violation." |
| Choice of sanction |
| The decision about a sanction for the violation is completely up to you - the professor involved has complete discretion, up to and including failing the student in the course. The faculty member could therefore reduce the grade on the assignment, fail the student on the assignment, fail the student in the course - it is your decision. |
| Filing a violation notice |
|
Please login to Campus Connect and click on the "For Instructors" link on the left side column. There will be an "Academic Integrity Violation" link on the list. If you click on that link, you will find instructions for the rest of the filing process.
